Full Grovel

“Sit,” ordered Salali.

Coop sat fast. Actually, he went full grovel. The situation required it, but the ground was prickly and ticklish against his bare back. It was hard not to squirm.  

Snorting, Salali lifted Coop’s foot and scrutinized the array of bracelets. “Mmm. Definitely coyote. What tipped you boys off?”

Pierre fumbled to explain.

When Salali listened and looked and asked more questions, Giang shed his nervousness, and the mystery became a lesson. Coop didn’t understand any of it, but his friends were giddy.

Finally, Salali asked an important question. “Coop, does your wolf trust this coyote?”

“Definitely! Mostly.”
