Wolves big as horses wandered in to inspect the straw-filled stalls. Close after them came a tall Amaranthine with caramel-colored hair twirled up into a bun. He met Coop’s gaze and smiled. “My name is Merl. Would you be our newest camper?”

“If it’s okay…?”

“A friend of the packs is welcome.” Merl sat on a straw bale and beckoned him closer. “I’ve spoken with Moon, and he had a suggestion. Due to… circumstances, we have many wolf Kith joining us this summer, so we switched up our battler games.” Hands on offer, Merl lightly asked, “Ever ride a wolf?”
