Busy Mom
Boundaries were apparently important to all wolves. Coop had thought it was just a Daroo thing. But after the morning meal, Torloo wanted to walk Coop around the Elderbough encampment perimeter.
“Your mom doesn’t live with you?” asked Coop.
“Our den is her true home, but she often travels.”
“Does that make you sad?”
Torloo hesitated.
Coop explained, “When people found out about my mom, they’d say dumb stuff. Like ‘don’t be sad.’ But Dad was so sad. It’s okay to be sad.”
“Your mother died?”
“Nope. She sent us away.”
“Were you sad?”
It was Coop’s turn to hesitate.
