Boon asked, “Ever ride a wolf?”

“Yeah. Well, kinda?” Coop explained, “Never alone. Daroo carries Dad, Rose, and me together.”

“I’m betting he kept things to a mosey.”

“Guess so. He’s careful of Rose.”

Boon traded a look with his little brother. “Okay, kid. Here’s the thing. When you run with the Elderbough trackers, the running’s literal.”

Coop checked, “I’ll ride Torloo?”

“Eventually,” said Boon. “Maybe even tomorrow. Nothing wrong with easing in.”

Torloo explained, “You and I will ride Boon together. I will make certain you do not fall off.”

“I don’t mosey.” Boon smirked. “Ready for some pell-mell?”
