Overlap
That afternoon, Torloo went deep, safe in his mom’s arms. Coop was right there, sitting close enough to hold his friend’s hand. Torloo’s dad taught Coop a wolvish song that was an Elderbough family tradition. Coop was pretty sure that meant they considered him theirs. Which was a huge honor and all, but he already had a pack.
“Do I have to choose?” he asked, searching the faces of Torloo’s parents.
“You already did,” said Adoona-soh.
Torloo’s dad was a little more helpful. “Circles of belonging do not have barriers. They overlap, giving you more people with whom to sing.”
