Sudden Clarity
One thing Coop loved about living in the woods was the pace. Everything took time, so he found himself slowing down, calming down. He breathed more deeply, thought more clearly, and took less for granted. Coop liked the person he became here.
The cookfire settled down, its embers throwing off steady heat.
Fragrant steam began to waft, flavored by foraged ingredients.
“I never want to leave. Well… never wanted to.”
Moon hummed. “I can remember feeling that way about my home den.”
“I belong.” Coop had realized something startling. “But it might not be the woods. It might be wolves.”
