Boon said, “I don’t think so. Play out here until the mares say so.”
“Play?” Torloo grumbled. “I am not a cub.”
Coop couldn’t agree more. “I’m fourteen.”
Ruffling his younger brother’s hair, Boon said, “Let Daroo know you’re borrowing his not-a-kid. We can hunt while we patrol.”
Torloo’s gaze slipped out of focus, then grew puzzled. “Daroo recommends Coop’s rabbit stew.”
