I vividly remember my first encounter with Natsume Yujinchou. Each episode of the anime’s first season stole a little piece of my soul, and I’d often be left blinking misty eyes. The format is episodic, and the story of a boy who can see youkai is gently-paced and heartwarming. News of a second season had me in raptures. The third, bliss. The fourth, a startling realization that I might actually have an answer for that impossible question—”Do you have a favorite anime?”
And so I’ve begun collecting the manga. Ongoing releases of Natsume’s Book of Friends by Yuki Midorikawa are from Viz. As of January 2016, there are 19 volumes available … and they’ve announced a fifth season of the anime. Life is good.
I LOVE this manga. I’ve been reading it since before it was even published in English and was totally stoked when I could buy them in English. I have them all in paper form and several of them in ebook form. Good selection.

I adore the anime, and I’ve been thinking of collecting the manga for it. Looks like I’d better get on it!
