LMM 312: Simplicity Itself

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the sympathetic one.

Simplicity Itself

Jacques opened his eyes to moonlight slanting through the cabin windows. He eased Inti into a more comfortable position, shushing and clucking all the while. If only he could banish all this boy’s nightmares.

“Opinions?”

“Frightened. Desperate. Easily as sly as his new mentor. Optimistic.”

Argent hummed. “Thank you for helping us come to terms.”

“You’d have managed.”

“Your simplicity inspired the necessary trust.”

“I’m hardly simple.”

“Am I to quibble terms with you, now?” Argent’s tone mellowed. “Guileless. Authentic. Sincere.”

“You’re making me blush.”

“You are too brazen to blush.” His master smiled. “It is good to be home.”

  2. 😍😍😍😍 Ahhhh… I love seeing Argent’s love for Jacques. Though I’m not sure he would ever use the “L” word, I just know that Argent does love him and values him deeply for his qualities.
    Lovely ☺️ 🥰
