Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the stunted one.

Growing Boy
Deece murmured questions, tested limbs, sniffed uncertainly. Nonny submitted quietly enough, eyes downcast. He looked so small in the big feline’s lap.
Finally, Deece asked, “Why are you concerned, Jacques?”
“When Nonny arrived a couple of years ago, I could lift him, carry him. He was a little boy.”
“He was little. Nonny was undernourished.” Deece nuzzled the kid’s hair. “It is better for you here.”
Nonny muttered, “Think I don’t know that?”
Deece began to purr. “You have gained ground with Sansa’s cooking. The rest will come as you progress through your adolescence.”
“And there it is,” Jacques sighed.

Oooh! Is Nonny aging as an Amaranthine…….or a human? I thought crossers had a similar lifespan to that of their Amaranthine parent? Or am I missing (or misinterpreting) something?

Oh!!! I feel like all the crossers we’ve met have had an amaranthine’s lifespan but I do remember someone (I think it was Ash? But maybe someone else) actually commenting how it looked like their lifespan was taking the Amaranthine way, so made me wonder about crossers who maybe take the HUMAN way! Will be very interesting!

I think that Nonny was always a bit older than everyone thought. He was just so neglected that he seemed so little.

I’m in the same camp as nan4444. I feel he was just neglected and now he is catching up. Hmmm…do Amaranthine crossers have hormone surges? He’s a bit cranky already, is he going to get worse (for awhile anyway)?
