LMM 119: The Last Cookie

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one with too many secrets.

The Last Cookie

Jacques lost his awe of Hisoka. They were just two chaps with questionable taste in literature and an appetite for chocolate-dipped biscuits.

“Why are you doing this?”

Hisoka glanced at the empty tin and apologized. “Did you want the last one?”

“I meant Lapis. Why are you overseeing his naptime?”

“I suppose I’m returning favors.”

“He did you a favor?”

“Lapis let me convince him to join the Five.”

Jacques considered. “Did you know you’d need a dragon?”

“I didn’t realize how much.”

“How’d you even know you might?”

His smile was secretive. “I heard a song among the stars.”
