Sesshoumaru’s fangs grazed the sensitive skin of her throat, and Kagome tried to understand their oddly intimate impasse. “Are we bonding, too?” she whispered.
His fingers tightened in her hair. His face filled her view. “The wish did that.”
She managed a tiny nod.
“Make it stop.”
“I don’t think we can take it back.” Kagome could only promise, “It’ll be okay.”
Sesshoumaru’s gaze flicked to the gaining light coming from the entrance. “Your wish. Explain it.”
“Now or then?”
Colors wavered. “Your wish has changed?”
Kagome smiled at the return of deep magenta. “Maybe the wish is changing me.”
